For this project we have spent our time studying ways to keep the ravines clean. We have researched many ways to keep the ravines clean. We have also used our field trips to the ravines as extra information to help us and as a way to get really accurate and up close form of research. After doing weeks of research we narrowed our project down by picking some ways to keep the ravines clean that we thought were the most informative and realistic. We have seen from multiple websites and our field trips that keeping the ravines clean are a group effort and multiple people are needed to help with this process. A few ways we have found to keep ravines clean are, removing garbage from around the ravines, planting native trees and monitoring storm drains to avoid excess water in the ravines. We have also found that it is crucial that the homeowners who live near the ravines pay attention to what goes on in their backyard. One way we personally have helped clean up the ravines is by cleaning up garbage. We went down to the ravine after school and picked up garbage we saw along side the ravine and up near the trees! After doing this project we have not only learned more ourselves, but we hope that we have taught more people how to keep the ravines clean!
